She has published articles on business, government, the arts, education, health and sports, in a range of magazines.
She holds an MBA from the University of Alberta, an MA in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario, and an Honours BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Alberta.
In 1997, Gail established WindWord Communications as a consulting, editorial production, coaching and training firm. She has consulted on message development for companies and individuals, and has evaluated media content analysis results for clients in government and business.
Her experience also includes implementing the recommendations of communications plans and creating the material needed to convey the information. Working with a network of graphic designers, editors, writers, and printers, she has guided the production of brochures, newsletters, reports, press releases, educational booklets, and websites.
Her training repertoire comprises workshops, small group seminars, keynote speeches, and private coaching. She has helped people in government, education, business, sports, law, real estate, and consulting to understand the demands of the media and to polish their public speaking and presentation skills. Gail's coaching style is direct, analytical, goal-oriented, and empathetic.
Whether steering a group to a workable communications strategy, writing an article that captures the essence of a person, place or thing, or speaking to an audience about media relations management, Gail's objective is to help the client send out signals that are clear, compelling, creative, and ultimately productive.
